Interlude
We live in a consumerist world characterized by an unrelenting pursuit of more: more possessions, more entertainment, more consumption. Amidst this frenzy, adopting a simple, minimalist lifestyle is often scorned by a society steeped in wasteful patterns of accumulation. However, it's usually those who distill life down to its essentials that find beauty in simplicity, cultivate gratitude for what they already possess, prioritise quality over quantity, value experiences over material goods, and choose intentional living over mindless consumption.
Below you'll find a few of my favourite quotes about living a life where less truly is more.
"It is preoccupation with possession, more than anything else, that prevents men from living freely and nobly." ~ Bertrand Russell
"Minimalism is not about what you own, it’s about why you own it.” ~ Brian Gardner
“It is not the man who has too little, but the man who craves more, that is poor.” ~ Seneca
“The secret of happiness, you see, is not found in seeking more, but in developing the capacity to enjoy less.” ~ Socrates
"One underappreciated benefit of minimalism is the ability to walk confidently through your bedroom with the lights off." ~ Joshua Becker
What are your thoughts on minimalism, dear reader? Let me know in the comments.
Until next week,
